Jackie Robinson's story is told in this heartwarming biopic from writer/director Brian Helgeland. Chadwick Boseman stars as Robinson with Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, Nicole Beharie as Rachel Robinson, and other wonderful actors as baseball greats from the era. Rated PG-13. 128 minutes. Admission is free and light refreshments are served at 12:30 pm. Funding for the film program is made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, and by the Friends of the Springfield Public Library.
