LUNCHTIME FILM SERIES

SELECTED 1940s CLASSICS - HITCHCOCK AND FILM NOIR
Don't miss Alan Ladd at his hard-boiled, no nonsense best as a man trying to prove his innocence and Veronica Lake as the perfect noir femme-fatale, mysterious and alluring. The screenplay, the only one written by Raymond Chandler directly for the screen, was nominated for an Academy Award. Directed by George Marshall.  Admission is free and light refreshments are served at 12:30 pm. Funding for the film program is made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, and by the Friends of the Springfield Public Library.
