The popular 1ST FRIDAY @ GALERIA WEST music series continues with a special jazz performance by acclaimed BOSSA BRASIL Quartet in concert.
The popular bi-monthly 1ST FRIDAY @ GALERIA WEST music series continues with a special concert performance by the acclaimed BOSSA BRASIL Quartet on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 7:30pm at the Galeria West Art & Music Gallery, located at 111 Quimby Street in downtown Westfield, NJ. Enjoy a wonderful evening of superb Brazilian jazz fusion as performed by Brazilian percussionist Mauricio De Souza and his talented guest music artists; Anton Denner on alto sax, Jerry Weir on vibraphone and bassist Gary Mazzaroppi.
BOSSA BRASIL performs the most sophisticated Brazilian music. The repertoire includes compositions by Brazil’s most outstanding artists including; Tom Jobim, Egberto Gismonti, Roberto Menescal, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Victor Assis Brazil, Hermeto Pascoal, Baden Powell, Luiz Eca and Pixinguinha. Some of the more exotic rhythms explored by the group include “Baiao” and “Maracatu”.
The performance will include selections from the BOSSA BRASIL 2010 cd release, “Here...There” and the 2013 cd release, “Different Directions”. Both releases have received very positive reviews by the prestigious jazz radio station WBGO and other respected national radio and music publications.
