Patriot Newspaper Returns as Patriot Times
The monthly newspaper resumes publication, with changes in production.

Springfield residents welcomed an old friend with a new name into their homes.
The Springfield Patriot Times published its first issue this month. The newspaper takes the place of the Springfield Patriot, the monthly newspaper produced by the township’s Patriot Chamber of Commerce.
The Patriot . At the end of December, the paper’s publisher, Renna Media, told the Chamber they were going to suspend publication of the monthly newspaper.

“We said this was an important project and wanted to continue it,” Chamber co-chair Scott Seidel said.
Like its predecessor, the Patriot Times offers community news submitted by members of Springfield’s business community, government and civic organizations. The inaugural issue includes features such as the township’s recycling schedule and galleries of pictures from community events.

In creating the Patriot Times, Chamber members have spearheaded roles formerly performed by Renna, including hiring a designer, communicating with the publisher and distributing the paper. Seidel said the two-month gap in publication was needed to organize the new paper, and believes the April issue will be easier to produce.
