Police Bust Underage Drinking Party
Police say 16 people at party were younger than the legal drinking age.

On Wednesday, May 5, police arrested 16 teens for underage drinking.
According to a police report, police responded to noise complaints on Jade Meadow Drive at 11 pm. Officers found a large and loud group of teenagers and 20-year-olds drinking beer in a backyard.
Police say that 16 of the party-goers were underage, including a 17-year-old intoxicated Springfield resident who reportedly fled from the party when officers asked for her name. She was later apprehended, taken into custody and released to one of her parents.

The other 15, Springfield residents all, were found to be between 18 and 20 years of age. Police gave them township ordinance summons for Possession and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages by Underage Persons on Private Property.
Officers also stood by to ensure each one contacted a parent or adult family member for a ride home.

The court date for the 15 adults is set for May 24 at the Springfield Municipal Court.
