Purim Festivities at Temple Sha'arey Shalom, Springfield
Special holiday program tomorrow for grades K-2

Come in costume and bake hamantaschen (triangular pastry), sing songs, march in a costume parade, and enjoy dinner tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4 at Temple Sha’arey Shalom while learning about the joyous holiday of Purim. Purim celebrates the victory of Queen Esther and her cousin Mordechai over the evil Haman’s plot to kill all of the Jewish people in ancient Persia in one day.
This holiday program is designed for children from kindergarten through 2nd grade and open to Temple members and non-members. It runs from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Temple, 78 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield. Although “drop off” is permitted, parent or caregiver participation is preferred. At 7:00pm, families are invited to join the entire religious school for Megillah Madness: An Annie Purim, a fun and interactive reading of the megillah (Purim story) inspired by the musical Annie.
To RSVP or for additional information, call the Temple office at 973.379.5387 or email office@shaarey.org. Wednesday’s event costs $25 per family and includes a hot dog dinner and hamantaschen.
