Rates of Melanoma Continue to Rise in New Jersey
Despite the Cold Weather, Potentially Deadly Melanoma is on the Increase

MILLBURN, N.J. (February 16, 2015) – Despite the drop in temperatures, skin cancer rates continue to rise throughout New Jersey. In fact, New Jersey continues to exceed nationwide skin cancer rates, and residents are particularly at heightened risk for melanoma, the most serious and deadly form of skin cancer. This heightened danger, coupled with the U.S. Surgeon General’s skin cancer warning, has prompted MoleSafe to urge New Jersey residents to take advantage of the most advanced melanoma screening program, now available in Millburn, NJ.
New Jersey’s average annual rate of invasive melanoma is more than double the national rate, according to the National Cancer Institute. By enrolling in MoleSafe’s early detection program, patients get their skin imaged and monitored over time to spot suspicious changes and detect melanoma before it spreads and causes other serious health effects.
If you or a loved one has had one or more blistering sunburns, has light skin, light eyes and/or light hair, has more than 50 moles, engages in indoor or outdoor tanning or has a family history of melanoma, you are at risk. Don’t take your chances with melanoma, get screened. MoleSafe is the world’s most advanced melanoma screening and surveillance program, as it combines all of the current proven processes into one single program to detect melanoma at the earliest stage possible, while reducing the number of unnecessary biopsies – which means less pain and suffering for the patient.
