Police believe families of Asian Indian descent have been specifically targeted in the recent string of armed home invasions.

Police believe families of Asian Indian descent have been specifically targeted in the recent string of armed home invasions in South Plainfield, Old Bridge, and most recently, Edison.
During each incident, two or more masked gunmen break into the home from a rear entrance and restrained family members before the house is ransacked for cash, electronics, and jewelry.
It is unclear whether or not the same suspects participate in each of the home invasions.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police and the FBI have joined local authorities in the search for suspects, but so far no arrests have been made.
The most recent home invasion occurred on Oct. 30 in Edison, according to nj.com.

Three prior invasions are believed to be connected:
- Oct. 28 in South Plainfield
- Oct. 26 in Old Bridge
- Oct. 20 in Old Bridge
According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc. is offering cash rewards to anyone who wants to provide information anonymously.
The Crime Stoppers phone number is: 1-800-939-9600. Additionally, anyone with information may access the Crime Stoppers website at middlesextips.com.
Text messages with information may also be sent to 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword ‘’midtip’’ followed by a message.
Those who call will be given instructions on how to collect cash rewards by using a numerical code that will be recognized by a local bank, which will pay the rewards following approval by Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc.
