Springfield Schools Welcome New Assistant Principal At Edward V. Walton Elementary
Alexis Bellardino joins the Bulldog family with a focus on literacy and special education support.
SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Springfield Public Schools welcomed a new assistant principal to Edward V. Walton Elementary School at the Board of Education's regular public meeting on June 1.
Alexis Bellardino was introduced as the incoming assistant principal at Walton, where she will bring a focus on elementary literacy instruction and support for students with disabilities. The district described Bellardino as passionate about elementary education, and the school community was invited to join in welcoming her to the Bulldog family.
The June 1 meeting also included board action on a range of personnel and operational matters for the 2026-2027 school year, including employment contract approvals for district administrators and staff, summer program staffing, and the approval of two construction bid awards at Jonathan Dayton High School. The board awarded a $788,000 interior renovations contract to Drill Construction Co., Inc. and a $272,680 steam and condensate repair contract to Silva's Mechanical Services, Inc., both funded through the district's approved referendum bond.
