St. James Continues 'Spotlight on Scriptures' Series

St. James Parish in Springfield will continue its Spotlight on the Scriptures series as it shines the Spotlight on the New Testament with Course 6: "The Word Enlightens our Faith, Fortifies our Hope, Inflames our Love" on Saturday, December 2 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The presenter will be the Rev. John D. Gabriel, pastor of St. Paul Church in Ramsey and a priest of the Archdiocese of Newark for more than 25 years.

The presentation will take place at Hatcher Hall at St. James the Apostle Church, Springfield.

This course explores the Word of God in the life of the Church and each individual Christian. Briefly examining history, literary style, theology and spirituality in the New Testament, participants will discover how, according to St. John Vianney, “the word enlightens our faith, fortifies our hope, and inflames our love of God and neighbor.”

Participants are encouraged to bring their Bibles to the course. Bibles also will be available to borrow or purchase.
