Whats less? 4.09 sqft? or $29.99 yd?

Dear Carpet Girl,
I recently went shopping for flooring, and now I am completely confused.. please help me understand, what is the pricing structure for flooring?
Dear Homeowner,
That's a very popular question, asked by homeowners daily... Sadly the "box" stores LOVE to confuse the consumer with "lead in" pricing... Here's the simple answer...
$4.09 sqft, is actually $36.81 yard... So $29.99 yd, is less.  Carpet is sold by the "yard", hard surface by the box or by the square foot...
Large retailers like to advertise a sqft price because it sounds less.
The answer is to multiply the square foot price by 9..  Then you can compare the prices accurately..

Happy Floors,
The Carpet Girl
