• Coastal storm causes major beach damage in 10 shore towns (ocnjdaily.com) — Strathmere's beaches came through September's powerful nor'easter with only minor erosion, thanks in part to recent beach replenishment projects that buffered the surf. A new state report shows nearby towns like Atlantic City, Brigantine, Stone Harbor and North Wildwood suffered far worse dune damage, while officials now push for federal aid and plan next steps to protect the Jersey Shore.
