Overlook Hospital Says 400 Mops 'Not' Stolen
An original report of 400 mops being stolen from Overlook Medical Center was made in error, according to authorities at the hospital.

SUMMIT, NJ — An original report of 1,000 mops being stolen from Overlook Medical Center was made in error, according to authorities at the hospital.
"The mops were not stolen, but improperly discarded," said Rob Seman, Public Relations Manager for Overlook.
Additionally, Seman said the number was actually 400 mops that went missing.

The original report stated a theft was reported on June 22 had occurred between June 10 and June 21 where 1,000 mops valued at approximately $1,750 were taken from a storage area, Summit police report.

On June 19: Peter Ferguson, 31, of New York, New York was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Point Pleasant Beach. Ferguson posted bail and was provided a new court date.
On June 26: Ahmad K. Ford, 24, of Newark was arrested and charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS). Ford was processed and released with a pending court date.
On June 26: Zahir Nash, 19, of Newark was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Newark. Nash was processed and released with a pending court date.
On June 29: Barry J. Turner, 32, of Vauxhall, was arrested on contempt of court warrants out of Metuchen, Union and Clark. Turner was processed and provided new court dates for all three municipalities.
On June 30 at 1:52 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a GPS device from a vehicle at a Beekman Road residence. The victim reported the OBD-II GPS was last seen on June 14 while in the garage to the residence. The OBD-II GPS was valued at approximately $200.
On July 3 at 4:04 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a facility on River Road. The victim reported the incident occurring on July 2 between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Taken from a secured locker inside the facility was one mens Jaeger LeCoultre Duometre gold faced watch, with moon phases and a leather band, approximately $500 in cash, and several credit cards. The victim cancelled the credit cards. Total value of items stolen was approximately $40,500.
