1 Dead Following Multi-Vehicle Crash On Garden State Parkway
Breaking: A 4-mile delay is being reported on the northbound side from Cranford to the Union Toll Plaza due to the crash. A car burned.

HILLSIDE, NJ — A woman is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway near the Union Toll Plaza Tuesday afternoon. A car reportedly smashed into a concrete barrier of the tollbooth, and a car burst into flames.
The crash occurred at 2:30 p.m. on the northbound side of the parkway at mile marker 142.5 in the area of the Union Toll Plaza, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said.
There is no confirmation at this time of the number of vehicles involved, but Peele could confirm one fatality. The identity of the woman is not being released pending family notification.

The cause and circumstances of the accidents are still unknown, as police are still on scene as of 4:30 p.m.
Emergency responders found a car crashed into one of the concrete barriers of the tollbooth with a female occupant suffering severe injuries as the vehicle burst into flames, according to RLS Media.

As a result, a four-mile delay is being reported on the northbound side from Exit 137 - NJ 28 in Cranford to the Union Toll Plaza in Hillside Township.
