3 Summit Locals Charged With DWI, Warrants

Multiple thefts of bikes from the Summit Train Station were also reported, according to the police blotter.

SUMMIT, NJ — Three Summit locals were arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated or having outstanding warrants, according to the police blotter.

Summit Police Blotter:

On March 8 at 11:31 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a purse between 6:25 and 9:25 p.m. on March 6. The victim reported the incident occurred while at an establishment on Springfield Avenue. Taken were a Brighton style square handbag, black in color with silver buckles and a silver heart on the purse. The purse contained miscellaneous personal items, credit cards, insurance cards and a dark-colored flip-style cell phone. In addition to the personal items, there was approximately $110 cash inside. Total value of the stolen items is approximately $140.

On March 9 at 7:14 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a locker room at a business on Maple Street. The victim reported the incident occurred between 5:20 and 6:30 p.m.. Taken from an unlocked locker in the men’s locker room were a light blue/gray computer bag, one black Lenovo laptop computer, two TD Bank debit cards and approximately $100 in cash. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $450.

On March 12: Steven F. Ward, 50, of Summit was arrested on two contempt of court warrants from Summit and the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Ward was processed and custody was turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 12: Johannes A. Zarzycki, 61, of Summit was arrested on two contempt of court warrants out Morristown and Bedminster. Zarzycki was processed and released with pending court dates.

On March 12: David M. Jones, 50, of Jersey City was arrested and charged with contempt. Jones was transported to the Union County Jail where custody was turned over to their officers.

On March 12 at 7:22 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of bicycle from the Summit Train Station. The victim reported the incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. on the same day. The bicycle, which had been secured to a bicycle rack with a combination lock, was described as a gray men’s large frame Cross Trail Specialized bicycle. Total value of the bicycle was approximately $700.

On March 13 at 8:26 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a bicycle. The incident occurred sometime on March 12 when the bicycle, which had been left secured to the bike rack at the train station, was removed on that date. The bicycle was described as a men’s mountain bike, blue and white in color with 26-speeds. The
victim reported the estimated value of the bicycle was approximately $800.

On March 17: Primitivo B. Guerrero, 37, of Summit was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Guerrero was processed and released with a pending court date.

On March 23 at 12:52 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a bicycle between 10 p.m. on March 22 and 12:52 p.m. on March 23. The victim reported the bicycle had been left, unsecured, at the train station. The bicycle was described as a boy’s 26-speed bicycle. Value of the bicycle was unknown at the time of the report.

On March 23 at 3:37 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a saw from a business on Morris Avenue. The victim reported to have last seen the saw at approximately 2:45 p.m. while working. When the victim returned to the garage at 3:35 p.m., the saw was missing. The saw was described as a Skil Reciprocating Saw, red
in color and was valued at approximately $80.
