5th Annual Laugh Out Loud Comedy & Charity Auction Date Set October 28

The Summit Area YMCA will host its 5th Annual Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy & Charity Auction, a fundraising event featuring all-star comedians Adam Sank, a Summit native, Brian Scott McFadden, Robin Fox, and Joe Larson, at The Hilton Short Hills on the evening of October 28.

Last year, the LOL event raised over $83,000, which was contributed to the Y’s financial aid program and youth programs. Youth programs at the Y provide opportunities for youngsters to tap into their potential and discover their passions and talents. As a social gathering place for all ages, the Y believes that positive youth development is a cornerstone to the foundations of a strong community.

Guests will be in for a night of laughter, drinks and dessert along with a silent and live auction. A wine pull will also be running throughout the night for those who want to try their luck. Ticket and private table sales are limited and the evening is expected to sell-out quickly.

“Laughter is great,” commented Paul Kieltyka, President and CEO of the Summit Area YMCA. “it knows no language barriers and has the power to unite us all towards a common goal. This event generates plenty of laughter and brings the neighbors together to help support programs for one of the most important assets of building a strong community—youth.”

Over 20 volunteers and staff are giving of their time and talent to plan the fundraiser. Laura Gump, Summit Area YMCA Board Trustee and LOL Event Committee member, added, “Laugh Out Loud is a wonderful way to celebrate all that the Y does to make our community stronger and the incredible impact it has on lives, particularly for those who are struggling physically, emotionally or financially. It’s a very funny evening for a very meaningful cause…besides; it’s a great way to get a good abdominal workout, outside of the Y!”
