• Mother Robbed While Pushing Stroller In Summit (patch.com) — A Summit mother pushing a stroller on Park Avenue near John Street was robbed of her phone and sunglasses Wednesday morning, prompting a quick police response. With help from a witness, officers identified a Newark man as the suspect and arrested him within two hours, recovering the stolen items and filing multiple charges.    

• ‘You Get Three Minutes as Well': Mayor's Speaking Time Sparks Latest Clash on Summit Common Council (tapinto.net) — A clash over enforcing a three-minute speaking limit on Mayor Elizabeth Fagan and council members has intensified tensions on Summit’s Common Council. Council President Claire Toth framed the limit as a discipline tool, while Councilman Jamel Boyer argued any change must be formally adopted and said the move disrespected the mayor’s office and proper procedure.    

• Family members say loved ones held in Delaney Hall in N.J. continue to be abused (whyy.org) — A Summit-based Unitarian minister has joined advocates raising alarms about alleged abuse and unsafe conditions at Delaney Hall, an immigration detention facility in Newark. Family members and faith leaders describe health problems, canceled visitation, and claims of sexual assault by a guard, while state and city lawsuits seek greater access and potentially closure of the privately run site.
