On Saturday, May 30th (rain date: May 31st) the Summit Tennis Association (STA) is organizing its free Tennis “Gala-Blitz” event to promote tennis within the community as a sport for life. In cooperation with USTA Eastern, this event will take place between 11:30 am and 2 pm at the Memorial Soldiers Field public tennis courts in Summit, NJ. There will be many activities for adults and children of all ages such as free tennis lessons, games, and prizes for kids, free coaching for adults, technical demonstrations, snacks, etc. Families with children who have not tried tennis before are especially welcome. 
The Summit Tennis Association is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that encourages tennis playing on the City of Summit public courts. The Junior League of Summit (JLS) is proud to announce the launch of its third annual 100K Diaper Project, a community-wide initiative to collect 100,000 diapers by May 2026.&nbsp; JLS will donate all diapers to the Moms Helping Moms (MHM) Foundation, a New Jersey-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the growing crisis of diaper needs across the state.
Community members may support the initiative in two ways: 1) donate diapers at one of 38 community organizations hosting diaper drives throughout the area, or 2) scan QR&nbsp;code to&nbsp;contribute to the League’s virtual drive by making a monetary donation through the league’s direct fundraising link to MHM.&nbsp; Regular diapers, swim diapers, pull-ups, and both new and opened boxes of diapers are accepted. Financial contributions enable MHM to purchase diapers at wholesale cost, resulting in nearly twice as many diapers compared to what an individual might purchase at a retail store or online.&nbsp;
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, diaper need affects a staggering 1 in 2 families across the United States, and New Jersey families are no exception. Last year, Moms Helping Moms distributed more than 1.3 million diapers, yet this only begins to address the growing demand throughout the state. Diaper shortages have far-reaching consequences for families. Beyond affecting the health and well-being of infants and toddlers, a lack of diapers can also cause parents to miss work or school due to parents’ inability to provide the required diapers to their daycares. Compounding the challenge, diapers are not recognized as a basic need by government programs and cannot be purchased with food stamps, further exacerbating the challenge for families in need.&nbsp;
Through the 100K Diaper Project, the Junior League of Summit endeavors to bring awareness to diaper insecurity while mobilizing the community to support families in need.

The Summit Area Old Guard is a social, educational, and recreational fellowship of active men of retirement age, founded in 1930. We hear presentations most Tuesday mornings in an auditorium in New Providence, and we have many other activities including discussion groups, sports and outdoor groups, and celebrations. Our dues are minimal, and members volunteer for all aspects of the operation. Our motto is "Come for the programs. Stay for the friends." Girls’ Night Out is hosted annually on the first Thursday evening in June. Women from Millburn, Short Hills, and the surrounding towns all head to Downtown Millburn for shopping specials, giveaways, and a dedicated night to explore the shops in their favorite town.
