"Art at Overlook" Features Two New Exhibits This Summer

Overlook Auxiliary’s “Art at Overlook” program has two new exhibits hanging at Overlook Medical Center.

Mythical World, by local artist Cristina Salas, features horses, crocodiles, birds, insects and creatures telling stories of a magical planet. The exhibition expresses a visual sanctuary that uplifts the gallery space taking the viewer into a childish world of whimsical nature. Salas is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY, who has created many mosaic murals in both the United States and Ecuador. In addition to the art currently shown at Overlook Medical Center, Salas will donate a portion of proceeds for anyone who would like a commissioned piece by inquiring with the Gift Shop & Bloom at Overlook Medical Center.

Flights of Fancy is the latest exhibition from the New Jersey Art Association, which is one of the oldest art associations in New Jersey. The exhibit features 60 works of art by 30 different artists including Joane Speare, Barbara Uhr, Sandra Farin and Jack Quinn.

Both exhibits are located on the main floor past the Gift Shop & Bloom and Bouras auditorium, and will be on display until October 2, 2022.

The Overlook Auxiliary “Art at Overlook” program highlights the work of local artists within the halls of Overlook Medical Center. Program exhibits rotate every three months, and artists from the local community are invited to participate. All the art displayed is available for sale, with twenty percent of proceeds benefiting the Overlook Medical Center community.
