Barnabas Health Medical Group Welcomes Nurse Practitioner to Associates in Internal Medicine

Barnabas Health Medical Group (BHMG) recently announced Kimberly R. Leinker, MSN, RN, FNP-C, a certified family nurse practitioner, has joined Associates in Internal Medicine, a practice led by Dr. Carl Postighone and Dr. Martin Pontecorvo, in Stirling, N.J. The practice is affiliated with Saint Barnabas Medical Center.

As a family nurse practitioner, Leinker provides a full range of services to diagnose and treat patients of all ages, including performing physical examinations, administering immunizations, writing prescriptions and performing various procedures.

“I believe in creating a comfortable health care environment by utilizing a patient-centered approach to care,” said Leinker. “It’s important for me to be able to spend time with each patient to develop a comprehensive personalized treatment plan, as well as build lasting relationships.”

With multiple locations, Associates in Internal Medicine provides easy access to a variety of health services, including immunizations, annual physicals including CDL physicals, routine check-ups, acute care and sick visits, preventive health, and pre-operative evaluation.

Prior to joining Associates in Internal Medicine, Leinker earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa. and a master’s degree in nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J. A member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, she also holds certifications in both basic and advanced cardiac life support, as well as pediatric advanced life support and has completed a trauma nursing course.

Associates in Internal Medicine offers convenient hours at both of its locations in Florham Park, located at 248 Columbia Turnpike and in Stirling, located at 1072 Valley Road. The Florham Park office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Stirling office is accessible Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
