Benefit Performance Nov 4-5, Alliance Rep "The Pavilion" at MONDO

Please help support The Alliance Repertory Theatre Company on November 4th and 5th at 8pm for special benefit performances of their acclaimed show "The Pavilion." This award winning play by Craig Wright is directed by Michael Driscoll and includes Erik Gaden as Peter, Sarah Kuhns as Kari and Gus Ibranyi as the Narrator and will be staged again at MONDO in Summit, NJ.

Set during a 20 year high school reunion "The Pavilion" is a stardust - streaked comic romance, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2000. A beautiful story about time, love and forgiveness.

The story unfolds as Peter returns to his twenty-year high-school reunion with dreams of winning back Kari, the girl he left behind after an unexpected pregnancy ended their relationship. Standing in Peter 's way is Kari's bitter-as-ever resentment, her husband and the fact that Peter still hasn't grown up. As the night progresses both Peter and Kari are left to face the consequences of choices made long ago and they start back into life with newfound strength and bittersweet resolve.

The Pavilion is filled with poetic dialogue, humor and forgiveness. This funny thought-provoking play explores the sometimes overwhelming question of " What If ." What if we could go back in time and take another path? If only we had that second chance to make amends.

“It's a rare occasion to work on such a well-written script as The Pavilion.” says the Director, Michael Driscoll, " It's a play that makes you laugh, think and moves you to tears. We were so proud of our run in January, we felt it was the perfect piece to reprise for our 2016-2017 Season Fundraiser. "

Since the fall of 2008, Alliance Repertory has produced 20 New Jersey premieres including Something In The Air, which in 2011 was chosen as the Best Comedy Of The Year by Peter Filichia of the Star Ledger.

Two more premieres are scheduled for this season - "A Kid Like Jake" and "The Realistic Joneses".
