Break Down Boxes After The Holidays To Avoid Burglaries: Police

SUMMIT, NJ — Now that the holidays are over, authorities are reminding locals to be careful when throwing away boxes and garbage from presents.

"Remember to break down your boxes that all these fun, exciting items came in and put them in a container at the curb line for your normal pick up day," Summit Police Department stated. "Burglars have a front row seat of what you were given if the boxes are left in tact!"

By breaking down boxes and putting them inside a container it helps avoid the potential for a home burglary.
