Cafe Mavi Opens YMCA Location

Cafe Mavi has opened a new location inside the Summit YMCA.

Erol Zeren, one of the stores owners, said the cafe aims to serve healthy food, so opening a branch inside the YMCA just made sense.

"Our goal is to serve healthy food to people," Zeren said. "We our helthy food and moved it over there."

The small bar to the left of the lobby serves all the usual coffee drinks, from espressi and macchiatos, to soups, salads and wraps.

Zeren said they've also added protein smoothies and shakes and low-fat granola and vegetables "quick bites."

The partnership, Zeren said, was initiated from both sides. Zeren ahd his family are members at the Y and both parties wanted to make something work.

"If we can't reach people at the train station or here at the store, we're going to get them over there," he said.
