The Summit Playhouse

My Fair Lady is a musical with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The story, based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play Pygmalionand on the 1938 film adaptation of the play, concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phonetician, so that she may pass as a lady. Despite his cynical nature and difficulty understanding women, Higgins grows attached to her.

New Providence Presbyterian Church

Peter Hannon will present on the mission of DKMS (dkms.org), an international non-profit dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders. The organization focuses on increasing public awareness, improving treatment access, and expanding the global registry of potential stem cell donors. Peter joined the DKMS professional team in March 2025, but his connection to the cause began in 2016 when he became a blood stem cell donor. That rewarding experience inspired him to dedicate his career to the DKMS mission: ensuring that every patient searching for a compatible match receives a second chance at life.
The Summit Area Old Guard is a social, educational, and recreational fellowship of active men of retirement age, founded in 1930. We hear presentations most Tuesday mornings in an auditorium in New Providence, and we have many other activities including discussion groups, sports and outdoor groups, and celebrations. Our dues are minimal, and members volunteer for all aspects of the operation. Our motto is "Come for the programs. Stay for the friends." Guests are always welcome to attend and to learn about our organization.

Contra is the perfect social dance for new dancers. The beginners’ 
lesson at the start is all you need to enjoy your first evening of 
dancing. Contra dancing is a fun, easy-to-learn style of social dance in
 a supportive, inter-generational, inclusive community. It’s the cool 
cousin to square dancing—with hot live bands. A hot band is exactly what
 we have for this dance with Brooklyn Swing Ensemble&nbsp;playing amazing tunes with Alex Deis-Lauby&nbsp;calling.
If you are new to contra dancing, come for our evening dance on any 
first and third Saturday evening. Knowing how to dance is not necessary 
since the caller prompts the moves and guides the dancers. A lesson is 
given at 7pm prior to the dance to learn basic terminology and some of 
the dance moves. It’s fine to come alone since folks switch partners 
between each dance.
