Community Center Reopened In Summit
The newly-renovated facility celebrated with a party.

SUMMIT, NJ - The City of Summit had a grand opening party for the newly renovated Community Center Thursday and had residents celebrate with officials.
The party went from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the City of Summit Department of Community Programs hosted the grand opening at 100 Morris Ave.
Members of the public toured the renovated building that had undergone a $6.5M refurbishment beginning in September 2017. Upgrades to the 65-year-old building include a 17,000 square foot expansion that doubles its original size, a new gymnasium financed by Investors Bank with a high school regulation size basketball court, and a designated building wing for senior citizen activities funded by Celgene Corporation. The revamped community center will also continue to serve as the headquarters for the city's Department of Community Programs.
