Prospective families for the 2023-2024 school year are invited to a Preschool Open House on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:30pm to meet the teacher, tour the classroom, and learn all about the certified preschool program for children ages 3-5. “Early childhood is a partnership between the children, the adults (parents and teachers) and the learning environment” says new Head Preschool Teacher, Kathleen Keane. “When we all work together and set fair and consistent expectations, we offer children a chance to truly thrive as individuals and learners. A child’s first school experience should be fun, allow for creativity and offer the child a place to feel valued and celebrated. It is my hope that each day the children in our program grow to know the fantastic people they are.”
Kathleen Keane comes to The Connection with over 20 years of early childhood experience having worked as both a preschool teacher and director. She has completed countless hours of professional development and administration in Early Childhood and Social Emotional Learning as well as graduate work in education and a yoga teacher certification.
Keane believes in differentiating learning for each individual child and presenting opportunities to learn through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences every day. “I believe in the ongoing assessment of the classroom and program to ensure we are meeting the needs of the children in our classroom as well as creating inclusive learning environments for all types of learners” says Keane.
Each day The Connection Preschoolers explore, discover, and learn through hands-on interactive read-aloud, imaginative play, building blocks, storytelling, and creative arts. In addition, preschoolers participate in enrichment activities like musical theater, yoga, swim lessons, gymnastics, and junior warrior.
