Did You Know...Yoga Nourishes Your Skin?

Practice Yoga to Nourish Your Skin Seasonal change.  The fall and winter months present us with shorter days, raw winds, colder temperatures, dry-indoor heat, and extra layers of rough fiber clothing, all of which deplete the natural oils in our skin and dry our epidermis from head to toes. In the months ahead, we can adjust our daily skin care regimen to help us create a more radiant winter skin.

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), our skin is the body's largest endocrine organ. Its importance is not only for our glowing outwardly appearance, but for protecting and ridding the body of external environmental toxins (air pollutants, cosmetics, household products, deodorant, etc.).

There are many ways to nourish our skin in cold weather. Many of us take the preventive measures of applying layers of moisturizing lotions and oils, taking shorter, hot showers and using humidifiers to help moisturize cracking skin, drying sinuses and itchy derma from more serious skin problems.
