East Brunswick Man ID'd As Shooting Victim In Elizabeth

Union County Crime Stoppers are offering up to $5,000 for information about the fatal shooting in Elizabeth over the weekend.

ELIZABETH, NJ — Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of an East Brunswick man in Elizabeth over the weekend.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Tyrone Osorio, acting Union County Prosecutor Ann M. Luvera announced Tuesday.

Osorio was found suffering from gunshot wounds by Elizabeth Police on the 500 block of Elizabeth Avenue at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, according to the preliminary investigation.

Osorio was transported to University Hospital in Newark for emergency surgery, but was pronounced dead there at around 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

This matter remains under active joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
