Elizabeth Woman Hit By Car In Chatham: Police

CHATHAM, NJ — An Elizabeth woman was hit by a car in Chatham while exiting her truck, Chatham Borough police said.

Rosana Martelo, 37, was parked backwards in a no parking zone on Girard Ave at the time of the crash Wednesday morning, police said. She exited her delivery truck directly into the side of a moving car, causing the crash, police said.

Martelo was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other car, a Chatham Borough man, was interviewed and released.
