Enright Melanoma Foundation receives grant from Summit Area Public Foundation for Sun Safety Certification program
The Enright Melanoma Foundation announced that they have been awarded a grant of $15,000 from the Summit Area Public Foundation to support the expansion of their unique, online Enright Sun Safety Certification TM program.
The Enright Sun Safety Certification program is a unique, training and online certification program that has been developed by skin cancer professionals to teach people about SUN SAFETY. With skin cancer rates rapidly increasing, and melanoma now the most common cancer among young adults ages 25-29, there is an enormous need to educate young people, and the people who influence them, about the dangers of over exposure to the sun and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
“The support from the Summit Area Public Foundation is especially important since Joe Enright, who our Foundation is named for, was an internist with the Summit Medical Group”, said Richard O. Nelson, M.D., President of the Board of Trustees for the Enright Melanoma Foundation. “Joe lost his life at the early age of 37 from malignant melanoma. It’s so important that we educate people, especially kids, about how to be safe in the sun. We greatly appreciate this partnership.”
