PeachCraft Studios of Summit, NJ announces auditions for its summer 2011 Musical Theater Program, culminating in three performances of Rogers and Hamerstein’s The Sound of Music (1965), produced by Kate Kennedy, Founder and Artistic Director of PeachCraft Studios, and Directed by PeachCraft Vocal Conservatory faculty member Adam Gilbert.

 

This successful program, now in its sixth year, runs weekdays from MONDAY , June 27 through SATURDAY, JULY 25  from 9 AM to 4 PM, with public performances on Friday, July 24 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, July 25 at 2 PM and 7:30 PM. Student artists will have the opportunity to hone their musical and dramatic talents during an intense rehearsal period before performing in a fully-staged musical in Founders Hall, a new, state-of-the-art theater on the campus of Morristown-Beard School, Morristown, NJ.  In addition to daily music and staging rehearsals, performers will work individually or in small groups with members of the faculty and participate in weekly master classes with renowned guest artists.

 

Auditions are at PeachCraft Studios, located at 371 Springfield Avenue, on February 27, March 6, March 13, March 27 and April 10 (all Sundays) from 2-5 PM.  Enrollment is limited to 25 students ages 10-18.  To schedule an audition or learn more about the program, please call (908) 673-1485.
