Acclaimed New York architect Thomas Phifer will present Environmental Imperatives in Architecture at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit on April 28. Phifer will discuss recent projects such as museums, office buildings, courthouses and private residences and how they relate to their settings and connect to the natural environment. He also will examine how elements of sustainability support design excellence and technical innovation to promote lightness and transparency.
