Children 10 years and older are invited to take a two-hour training course to become certified peer mentors for local kids with special needs. Learn how various developmental disabilities and physical impairments affect how children play and learn, and how you can help them enjoy sports and games. Parents are also welcome to attend.
Trainees will receive a certificate of completion that will enable them to volunteer as a peer mentor in Summit's TryCAN special needs programs. The class is led by certified behaviorist Eileen Wotanowski.
Registration is available online, by phone or in person at the Summit Community Center.
