SUMMIT CHORALE TO PRESENT “SPRING INTO SONG”

Summit Chorale is pleased to announce that the third concert of its’ 102nd season, “Spring Into Song,” will be held Saturday, April 2, at 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in New Providence (111 South St.).  The concert will feature the children’s ensemble from St. Catherine of Siena School and Lacordaire Academy.

Highlighting the evening’s selections will be John Rutter’s “Mass of the Children,” in which a children’s choir combines with adult voices to provide a deeper aspect to the traditional Latin Mass. Joining the Chorale will be the combined children’s ensembles from St. Catherine of Siena School in Cedar Grove and Lacordaire Academy in Montclair.

Also featured will be “Regina Coeli” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of his three settings of a traditional “Marian Hymn,” or a piece dedicated to Mary, mother of Jesus. There are four seasonal versions of the Marian Hymn, with Mozart’s composition being performed from Easter Sunday through the Saturday before the Pentecost.
