SHS DINNER THEATRE FEATURES TWO COMEDIES
If you enjoy watching Dinner and a Movie on television, you will love Dinner and Drama with the Summit High School Theatre Arts Department! This year, the fall production will be held Friday (evening) and Saturday (matinee and evening), November 4 and 5 in the SHS cafeteria, due to auditorium renovations. Dinner and homemade desserts will be served at both evening shows as the acting company presents hour -long versions of two comedies, both of which are alternately hysterical and touching: Steel Magnolias and The Boys Next Door.
Set in a small town beauty parlor in Louisiana, Steel Magnolias reveals the strength, humor, and friendship behind the antic banter of its six strong female characters.

An Off-Broadway success, The Boys Next Door focuses on the lives of four mentally challenged men who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of a sincere social worker. Filled with humor, the play is also marked by compassion and understanding as it hits squarely on the truth of life with its constant interplays of triumphs and tears.
Dinner will be served each night at 7:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m. A Saturday matinee is also scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (concessions only).
