Breaking: Black smoke was reported coming out of the Warwick Road home on Thursday afternoon, Summit officials report.
SUMMIT, NJ — An elderly resident's Warwick Road home sustained significant fire and smoke damage as a result of a fire on Thursday afternoon.
Black smoke was reportedly coming from the windows of the single family home at noon and neighbors reported that an elderly resident lives in the house, and but she would not answer when they tried to knock and ring the doorbell, Amy Cairns, Summit spokeswoman said.
When Summit firefighters arrived they found a fully-involved fire on the first floor of the home searched for the resident with no luck.
