The Fortnightly Club of Summit Awards 2023 Scholarships

Three Summit women were selected as this year's recipients

Summit, NJ - The Fortnightly Club of Summit announced the recipients of their 2023 scholarships: Hefziba Campos, Yenni-Gonzalez-Chacon and Melina Garcia. Each year, the Club’s scholarships are awarded to deserving young Summit women to help them pay for college. These young scholars were awarded a total of $12,000 for their college education. Eligibility for the scholarship is based on academic merit, personal essay, and financial need. By helping young women begin their adult lives is a significant way The Fortnightly Club gives back to the community. Hefziba Campos was awarded The Manley-Winser Scholarship. This scholarship is open to any female high school senior who resides in Summit and plans to attend a 2 or 4-year college, professional, technical, or trade school. Hefziba will be attending Boston University this Fall.

Yenni Gonzalez-Chacon was awarded The Fortnightly Club Scholarship. Yenni will be attending Drew University this Fall.

Melina Garcia was awarded The Sherry Rawson Scholarship that is in memory of Sherry Rawson, a beloved Fortnightly Club member who served on the scholarship committee for many years. Melina will be attending Kean University this Fall.
