'Hazardous Conditions' Prompt Delayed School Start In Summit

Superintendent June Chang reversed an earlier decision after receiving updated weather information.

SUMMIT, NJ - After receiving updated weather information, Summit Superintendent June Chang has decided to run the district on a delayed opening schedule for Thursday.

This is a reversal to an earlier message Chang sent out telling parents that despite the historic lows predicted, the schools were a "nice, warm place" for the children to be and said the district would run on a regular schedule.

According to the second message of the evening, Chang made the decision to run on a delayed opening after receiving the updated weather information.
