Hoboken Farms Store Coming Soon
Despite a handful of delays, the Hoboken Farms storefront will be ready to open within the next few weeks.
Those who have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the Hoboken Farms storefront on Springfield Avenue should start getting excited. After a difficult winter with many delays, the farmer’s market favorite should be prepared to open their doors within the month.
The weather played a large role in the delayed opening. Because of the snow, store owner Brad Finkel and his staff lost 15 work days and had to wait until just recently to get their power installed.
Among the many developments inside the store, there are newly installed counters and cabinets, a freshly painted green floor, and warm, bright lighting. The store’s main sign was put up Monday afternoon. A new stairway has also been added leading to the back door from the parking lot, which has 22 parking spaces. This was also delayed for months by the snow.

However, with the construction winding down and the inspections being passed, the store comes nearer and nearer to its opening day. Finkel plans to kick things off with a trial period in which the store will allow anyone and everyone to try their sandwiches for free.
In general, the store will sell a variety of sandwiches, all of which will be available gluten-free, with special focus on full flavor and healthy ingredients. They will also use local produce whenever possible. Finkel, whose son is gluten intolerant and his wife is a health-conscious yoga instructor, believes people will be pleased with the store’s offerings.

“If you can feed my family, you can feed anyone," he said.
Patrons will be able to order in-store, over the phone, or online for carry-out orders. While there are no seats, there will be a counter where customers will be welcome to stand and eat.
“The point is that we are very very close to opening," Finkel said in an e-mail. "When? I don’t know but soon...we promise.”
