Holy Week and Easter Services at St. John's, Summit
St. John's Lutheran Church invites all to its Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday services.
We invite the Summit and surrounding communities to join us at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Summit for our observance of Holy Week and celebration of the Triduum, the Three Great Days of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection. Services on Maundy Thursday, April 13th, will be held at 12:00 noon and 7:30 PM. On this day, we ask for God’s forgiveness and remember Jesus’ command to love one another. Footwashing will be included at the 7:30 PM service.
Good Friday, April 14th, begins with the Community Good Friday Walk at 9:30 AM, beginning at Central Presbyterian Church and ending at St. John's. The traditional Good Friday Liturgy at St. John's will be offered at 12 Noon and 7:30 PM.
On Sat., April 15th, at 7:30 PM, St. John’s holds its Easter Vigil. On this holiest night of the year, we gather outside to light the new fire, remember the story of salvation, baptize new Christians, and celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter.

Easter Sunday, April 16th, dawns with festival liturgies at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Come celebrate the resurrection of our Lord with brass music, organ, bells, choirs, and joy. There will be a delicious and plentiful Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt for young children at 9:00 AM.
