Jeans, Leggings Combo a Hot Item This Fall

Back to school clothes shopping in downtown Summit couldn't be easier – or more fun – with the selection of styles and colors that local stores bring to shoppers this year. From pre-school to high school, new and existing stores along Springfield Avenue have a unique selection for everyone.

Seal & Co., has a wide array of children's clothing and owner Eric Model describes their selections as "fashion-forward, but will still make Mom happy."  Part of  Seal & Co.'s inventory for kids is made up of screen printed tee-shirts, cargo pants as well as casual dresses.  Model adds that his store also sells accessories and items for monogramming. Clothing brands in the store include Wess and Willy and Dogwood for boys, as well as the Tea Collection for girls.

Jay's Shoe Box, which has recently opened, carries a large selection of kids shoes. Visit Jay's for the latest styles from Geox, Stride Rite, Primigi, Nike and many more.

A new store that targets the teens on up, is Bella Ro. Owner Vanessa Romond says her boutique carries "unique, young, contemporary clothing. West Coast fashion." Romond visits Los Angeles frequently to select new styles which keep shoppers coming back. One popular item this year, Romond explains, are Jeggings, which is a jean that's also a legging. Bella Ro carries them in both dark denim and black. You can pair the Jeggings with sweaters, shirts or cardigans –all found at Bella Ro. Bella Ro also carries dresses and accessories such as hats and handbags.

Both Model and Romond agree that a wardrobe should be built with comfortable fabrics and layering of pieces. Romond explains that Jeggings are great for layering and you can wear them three seasons out of the year.  In addition, Jeggings are also available for the younger set – Seal & Co. carries them as well.
