Jewelry, Cash Stolen From Summit Businesses

A black man, about 6', mid-30s, bald, well dressed wearing a medium blue-colored long-sleeve shirt is wanted in one of the thefts: Police.

SUMMIT, NJ — Two thefts were reported at businesses on Beechwood Road in Summit recently.

On Oct. 25 at 9:52 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft of jewelry from a Beechwood Road business. The victim reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Oct. 24 when a male party was in the business. The individual made a purchase of a pair of earrings after looking at several necklaces. Shortly after the male left the business, the employee noticed a Pyrite Gold Freshwater Pearl Necklace was missing. Total value of the piece of jewelry was approximately $225.

On Nov. 1 at 4:56 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of cash from a Beechwood Road business. The victim reported the incident occurred at approximately 4:56 p.m. when the suspect was seen running out of a rear entrance to the business. Taken from a purse in a back room was approximately $300 in cash. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, mid-30s, bald, well dressed wearing a medium blue-colored long-sleeve shirt and khakis. The suspect had taken off on foot in the area of the train station. Responding units were unable to locate the suspect.

On Oct. 27: Pamela Harriott, 29, of York, Pennsylvania was arrested on three contempt of court warrants out of Summit. Harriott was unable to post bail and was transported to the Union County Jail where custody was transferred.

On Nov. 1 at 10:40 a.m.: A report was taken for criminal mischief to a home on Miele Place. The property manager reported fresh paint on the homes front pillars, entrance walkway and garage door. At the time of the report it was unknown the total value of the damage done to the residence.

On Nov. 6: Andriy S. Blyednov, 41, of Newark was arrested and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. Blyednov was released with a pending court date.

On Nov. 7: Michael Britt, 51, was arrested on four contempt of court warrants out of Summit, Flemington, New Providence and Newark. Britt was unable to post bail and was transported to the Union County Jail was custody was turned over to their department.

On Nov. 8: Andrew E. Romano, 61, of Garwood was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Romano was released with a pending court date.
