The Junior League of Summit Awards Helping Hands of Chatham, NJ

The Junior League of Summit (JLS) awarded the 2020 Amanda Parrish Block Grant to 'Helping Hands' in support of students and families of Chatham in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. 'Helping Hands' assisted local families by purchasing grocery gift cards, securing boxes of fresh produce, milk and eggs, bread, face masks and other essentials.
Each year, the JLS awards The Amanda Parrish Block Grant based on certain needs that arise in the community surrounding food insecurity and meeting essential demands. The grant was established in 2017 in honor of Amanda Parrish Block, founder of Giving and Receiving Assistance for our Community's Essentials (GRACE), as a tribute to her tireless efforts, enthusiasm, and dedication to address the various needs in our community.
Helping Hands of Chatham, NJ is an online volunteer coordination service for friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to assist those in need. In addition, they have recently implemented a buddy system where volunteers can sign up to help within the community.

Whether the need is emotional, a shopping trip, pharmacy pick up, a car ride, a visit to the doctor - whatever the necessity may be, They will have a pool of volunteers to provide outreach.
