Kevin Davis, Organist-Choirmaster Joins Calvary Church

Religion, Arts and Entertainment

Calvary Episcopal Church is pleased to announce that Kevin Davis has joined the staff as Organist-Choirmaster. Kevin brings a sense of humor and collegiality to his music ministry. He plans to enhance the already strong choral program by offering music that will be challenging but accessible for choir members, by recruiting new ensembles for worship, and by rebuilding the children’s Choristers program and the Handbell Choir. Although his initial focus will be on worship ensembles, Davis is very excited to lead the Calvary Chorale, an extension of the Calvary Choir. The Chorale performs public concerts of sacred music throughout the year, often with orchestral accompaniment. Davis holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Louisiana Tech and a Masters in Music from Westminster Choir College. He has 24 years of experience and has led adult, handbell and children’s choir programs. Since earning his Masters at Westminster in 1992, Kevin has held organist/music director positions in three churches in Vermont and Alabama. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Association of Anglican Musicians, and the Royal School of Church Music.
