Manhattan Bagel Aims to Open in Early February
Franchisee Akram Kwaik said delayed opening is result of permit delays.

While residents in the city may have received coupons for Manhattan Bagel saying the store is now open, the newest New Jersey location is still under construction.
Franchisee Akram Kwaik said the bagel store did not open in November as planned due to permit delays.
But the delay has been a good thing.

"It has given me more time to come up with better plans for the opening," he says.
The new target opening is early February when there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Jordan Glatt.

"I'm even more excited now," Kwaik said about opening a location in Summit. "I was more nervous before but the more time I spend here talking to neighbors and seeing how well other businesses do–I think this will be one of my favorite locations. Everybody here is nice. It's a good city."
