Minuetto Music Festival Presents Sonare in Concert

Sonare showcases this year's Young Artists in Residence at the Continuo Arts Foundation

The Minuetto Music Festival is pleased to present Sonaré in concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 26th. Sonaré is a year-long Young Artist Program providing performance opportunities, master classes, and a variety of musical and career enrichment activities. Members are selected by audition and serve as Artists-in-Residence at The Continuo Arts Foundation . This season’s Sonaré members hail from Summit, Short Hills, Westfield, Roselle Park, Morristown, Freehold, Parsippany and other towns across New Jersey. The concert program will feature a variety of choral music selections and excerpts from Franz Lehar’s “The Merry Widow”.

Connecting artists to opportunities locally and around the world, Continuo Arts choral programs include ensembles for children, teens, adults and senior citizens; New Jersey’s most comprehensive intergenerational choral organization. In addition, the Continuo Arts Conservatory of Music offers vocal and instrumental lessons, audition and music theory prep and musical theater classes and summer program. The Conservatory is located at 36 Chatham Road in Summit, NJ.

Since its inception in 2007, The Continuo Arts Foundation has garnered the attention of the international music world as well as here in the tri-state area. Continuo Arts performance venues include Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Music Center at Strathmore, they have appeared on tour with Andre Rieu, premiered Disney’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” in 42 shows at the Paper Mill Playhouse and were the first US organization in history to present a concert inside the Sistine Chapel.

The Sonaré concert is free and open to the public; donations will be accepted at the door. The Montclair Central Presbyterian Church is located at 46 S. Park Street. Auditions for Minuetto’s week long summer program are being accepted now, forms are available online at www.continuoarts.com. Auditions for new Sonaré members are being scheduled beginning March 1st, contact The Continuo Arts Foundation at 908-264-5324 for more information and to schedule your audition.

Funding for this program is made available through the Local Arts Program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department of State, and local foundations, businesses and patrons.
