More Than $12,000 In Watches Stolen From Summit Home: Police

Summit Police say the watches were taken Oct. 1 from an apartment on Euclid Avenue.

SUMMIT, NJ - A thief who should never be late, the stealing of folding chairs and the burglary of two cars punctuated police activity as October began.

  • On Oct. 2 the Summit Police Department responded to a burglary call to an apartment on Euclid Avenue. The victim reported that the door to the apartment had been damaged and forced open where the person gained entry. It was determined at the time of the report, three watches had been stolen, one silver faced, black leather banded IWC watch valued at approximately $4,000, one silver faced, silver banded Cartier Tank watch valued at approximately $4,000 and one black faced, black banded Bvlgari Sports watch valued at approximately $4,000, police said.
  • On Sept. 28 a report was taken for a theft from two motor vehicles that had been parked in an Arden Place driveway, police said. The victim reported the vehicles, which had been left unsecured, were rummaged through and someone took approximately $40 to $60 in rolled quarters and a MacBook Air laptop. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $1,300, police said.
  • Sept. 27 saw the Summit Police respond to a report of a theft of folding chairs from the intersection of Whittredge Road and Prospect Hill Avenue. The victim reported approximately 25 white folding chairs, valued at $12 each, were taken. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $300, police said.
