New 4-Way Stop To Be Installed In Summit

The installation is part of a comprehensive and continuing engineering effort to increase vehicle and pedestrian safety in the city.

SUMMIT, NJ — The installation of a four-way stop at the intersection of Maple Street and Oakland Place was approved by the Summit Common Council during it's Tuesday night meeting.

The installation is part of a comprehensive and continuing engineering effort to increase vehicle and pedestrian safety in the city.

The new four-way stop is scheduled to be installed during the week of July 16.

Four-way stops are also required at Whittredge Road and Hobart Avenue, Essex Road and Whittredge Road, and Blackburn Road and Pine Grove Avenue intersections.

"The City of Summit is asking motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to be aware of these new traffic patterns and to drive, bike and walk safely around town," the City stated.
