New “Art at Overlook” Exhibit Features Local Artist Ricardo Roig
Program Proceeds to Benefit Overlook Medical Center
Overlook Auxiliary proudly announces the next installation of its “Art at Overlook” program, Art for Our Heroes, featuring the work of local artist Ricardo Roig. Roig is a professional fine artist, working in various media from painting, drawing, collage and murals using his own novel technique for creating hand cut prints. The Roig collection will hang at the Overlook Bobeck Gallery until March 27, 2022. All of the art displayed in the Art for Our Heroes collection will be available for sale at the Overlook Auxiliary Gift Shop & Bloom on the fifth floor.
As visitors are temporarily restricted from entering the Overlook Medical Center, Roig will also donate 20% of every sale of art purchased from his website with code OVERLOOK at checkout.
“I am so honored to partner with Art at Overlook during these unprecedented and extremely challenging times for our healthcare workers,” said Roig. “My hope is that our collection will help to spread positivity, light and energy to our heroes hard at work at the hospital through visual art.”

Overlook Auxiliary Co-Presidents Stacy Beckett and Heather Speas noted, “This program has brought about such an overwhelmingly positive response - doctors, nurses, and patients alike have gone out of their way to let us know how much they appreciate the respite the artwork gives them. We look forward to bringing future shows to the community, allowing us to give back even more to Overlook Medical Center."

The Overlook Auxiliary is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1916 that cultivates a compassionate and comforting environment throughout the entire Overlook Medical Center community with active volunteering and imaginative fundraising. Comprised of more than 250 active members, the Overlook Auxiliary supports important Medical Center programs like the Breast Center at Overlook, the Pediatric Eating Disorder Center, Atlantic Hospice, Family Medicine, the Oncology Center, and other community organizations like Health Start (an agency with a location at the Overlook campus) and Camp Clover (a camp for children who have suffered loss). It also funds annual nursing scholarships for deserving candidates and has contributed funding for large projects including the Caregiver's Center, the Emergency Department, and the Pediatric Emergency Waiting Room. The Overlook Auxiliary runs two signature fundraisers to benefit Overlook Medical Center - the annual Phantom Ball, a successful “no party” fundraiser, and a biennial Kitchen Tour, which features several of the area's fabulous private kitchens. In addition to the Overlook Auxiliary’s annual special events, the Auxiliary’s major fundraiser is the Overlook Auxiliary Gift Shop & Bloom, located in Overlook Medical Center. The Overlook Auxiliary Gift Shop & Bloom is an affordable, yet upscale gift shop and floral boutique serving the medical center and public alike.
