Newark Man Charged With Murder In Hillside Fatal Shooting

HILLSIDE, NJ — A Newark man was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Hillside man that took place in the township last weekend.
Jevon Pittman, 24, of Newark is charged with murder and related weapons offenses in connection with the death of Kevinray Hall, 29, of Hillside according to acting Union County Prosecutor Thomas K. Isenhour announced.
Hall was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at around 9 p.m. in the area of the 100 block of Summer Street in Hillside, members of the Union County Homicide Task Force reported.

He was transported to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in critical condition for emergency treatment and pronounced dead there at around 11:40 p.m., Isenhour said.
Pittman was identified as a suspect and arrested without incident on Warren Street in Newark shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pittman could face 30 years to life in state prison on the murder charge.
